It was the summer of 1947.The Britishers were all packed up and were in hurry to leave India as soon as possible.They were in a hurry because they were not feeling safe here anymore.The damage they had done to the fabric of Indian unity was ready to boomerang.The very Idea of of dividing India two religious state was a brainchild of Viceroy to keep Indian subcontinent backward.Probably they never liked the idea of their colonies standing up to compete against their status.So the best thing was to create reasons so that these people keep fighting among themselves.
So the day finally arrived when the two nation states were freed from the clutches of British rulers and they were now master of their own destiny. But this Independence costed us too heavily. The west punjab and Eastern parts of Bengal were joined together to form the Muslim State of Pakistan.Rest of the India was declared as the Union of India. But very soon after the Britishers left,the confrontation between kings of Riyasats and legislative member rose to an all time high. Princely states were free to join India or Pakistan or they could also remain an Independent nation. Anyhow all this was sorted out with the wise and decisive thinking of our policymakers.
Once the Union of states were formed and Princely states were abolished,next challenge was to decide the fate of people. At that time both India and Pakistan choose to become Democracies where people were free to elect their representatives.Thus began the journey of two brothers who inherited a good amount of cultural and wealthy heritage as well as fuedal mindset. While the elder one kept on improvising the old ideas and worked towards the upliftment of people the younger one choose experimentation to see where it will lead him.There are numerous examples of success and failures in the history of Pakistan.So let us examine one by one the different experiments done by Pakistan and analyze where she could have done better and where she could not do any worse.

(A)DEMOCRACY : Democracy in Pakistan is like a Sine function.Sometimes it is there and sometimes just opposite to that dictatorship comes into play.Their is a general observation that all the nation where people are lead by the fear of religion,end up losing their interest in democracy.So,Pakistan followed the same. Initially Pakistan was doing good as a democracy but later in the 80's military overthrew the elected democracy.
Since then it has been a normal sight that Pakistani army meddles into the affairs of the government. Whenever Pakistan faces a crisis,the Army and ISI take the charge.This has happened before and no one should be shocked if NAWAJ SHARIF government is overthrown some day.

Well India was bifurcated just for the sake of religion and Pakistan was supposed to be a Islamic nation.And the things followed the same.But very soon the become too much obsessed with religion. Forceful conversions and killling minorities became very common.This mass killing and forcible conversion drastically reduced the minority population. Moreover Mullas started following Wahabism and tried to connect themselves to Arabic identity.This led to boycott of the people who did not connect themselves to Arabic identity.They were denied to follow their Muslim religion.
Also Maulanas started taking active part in the policymaking process which led to disastrous results such as giving shelter to Terrorists and providing them a safe heaven.So the conclusion is that they religion so much importance that it cornered even the government.

The very first example of this approach can be traced back in the attack of Pakistan supported Kabailis on Jammu and Kashmir.Their tribal savages looted and massacred the masses of Kashmir just to ensure the accession of this Princely state to Pakistan.
Moreover it has always supported the secessionist Khalistani and separatist leaders of Jammu and Kashmir to wage a war against Indian Union.
But India is not the single enemy against whom Pakistan uses Terrorism as proxy offensive defense.Afghanistan is worst affected by Terrorism. After Afghanistan successfully pushed Taliban outside its territory,Pakistan became the obvious choice of terrorists. Now most of the terrorist camps are either situated close to India border or Afghanistan border.Jihadis get trained there ,they sneak into the enemy territory,complete their task and return back to their hidden camps.
But recently Pakistan itself has fallen prey to its old tactics.Terror attack on Army school in Peshawar ,Never ending attacks on religious congregations remind Pakistan that one who digs pit for others falls into it.

Certainly there are other factors such as corrupt legislators,weak and unstable government that are responsible for the pathetic condition of common Pakistani.
The amalgamation of politics,religion and military dominance still haunts the democracy and decision making capacity of legislation. Those who asked for the division of united India must have never thought of finding their country in such a bad state of affairs. They had a vision of a happy , prosperous and ever growing country which will have a dignified rank among the top nations of the world.

Certainly Pakistani are the real descendants of Sindhu valley civilization and they can perform much better in all the fronts of life.Maybe someday their policymaker would understand the situation better and start working towards the betterment of their country
